We call it "Setsubun", one of Japanese traditional season event.
Spreading beans to wish good luck inside and bad luck outside.
Recently a fad to eat roll rice sandwiches "Ehomaki".
I eat special roll cake for tea time.
I think it's a bit expensive to do it on time. Special roll rice or cake for Setsubun are a kind of promotion like Christmas cake, Valentine's chocolate and so on.
It continues very warm day at yesterday or today, isn't it?
返信削除But, it will seem like to return to winter tomorrow of the first day of spring.
By the way, I eat a roll rice sandwiches "Ehomaki" at supper today even in my home.
But, I knew for the first time that there are "special fruit roll cake" to mimic "Ehomaki".
I think it is very strong commercial spirit.
We are very lucky to have such various habits in a year.
削除I brought two "Ehomaki".
返信削除When "Ehomaki" was sold for the first time few years ago, I thought it was a fad.
But It was a event of "Setsubun" as familiar as spreading beans now.
I heard the sales of a store were small than usual in February and August"Nippati"
Ehomaki and Valentine's chocolate were made as commercial events .
I know it , but I buy them.
Japanese are genious merchant to produce such colorful events.
