Though any cities of Japan were not ranked in the top 10, Osaka 13 and Tokyo 19.
I wonder if Osaka and Tokyo were more liveable than Toyama.
The report is based on the data of factors so it doesn't count in emotional point for human nature.

Though the those countries are good to a trip when I think by experience of my little bit abroad trip, Toyama is best to life for me.

This ranking by EIU has been selected on the basis of the five main item "stability", "medical care", "culture and environment", "education" and "urban foundation".
I think sorry that Japanese cities have not been ranked in the best 10.
But, in the "25 cities ranked most livable in the world" in the 2014 version of "monocle" published magazine in the UK, Tokyo has been chosen second place, Kyoto 9, Fukuoka 10.
This ranking has been selected on the basis of the indicators to measure the quality of life, such as "public transport", "crime rate", "culture and economy" etc.

I knew three examples when we ranked on a annual survey of living condition.
Vienna, Melboume and Auckland are the upper ranks in three example.
I think they will be the most liveable cities in the world too.
I think we really be proud of our city,tasty food, good nature, low disaster and good people.
