Being a compact city...

It's known that Toyama was chosen for the Rockefeller 100 Resident Cities initiative, which led to the appointment of Joseph-Rinzo-Inada, a former adviser, as its chief resilience officer.
The mayor Mori and Rinzo-Inada traveled and received much advice on how to create a more resilient city from other municipalities as diverse as Pittsburgh, Wellington, Bristol in England and Surat in India.

Being a compact city

  1. I wonder if does Mr. Mori want the center part of Toyama City to be like a European town?
Toyama city has become too wide by the merger.
I think that it's necessary to think about the lives of the people in the area far from the center.
There was an article linked to this theme in "Kitanihon Newspaper" today.
I think that we should think about how to make the area where we live, not limited to Toyama city.

  2. I will fundamentally agree with the smart and compact city policy that the mayor of Mori aims.
I think the policy he promotes is novel and consistent, and also being ahead of the times.
However, there is concern that this policy will more and more leave areas far from the center of the city, such as south end area of the city where my older sister lives.
I think it is a very difficult, but I hope that consideration will be given to this problem as well.

By the way, this afternoon I attended special public lecture of mathematician Jin Akiyama's as younger grandsonno's escort.
Although it was a somewhat difficult lecture for my grandson of the fifth grade of elementary school, he taught them difficult mathematical theorem very easily.

    1. It'll be nice if you can take advantage of using Odekake bus, which costs only one coin to be round over the town.
