English is spoken as a major official language around the world. That's why we need to learn it as a part of global nation.
Without English we can't communicate nor having business because we can't stay isolated alone. Our nation have to navigate and survive in the rough water.
English at elementary school
When I was a student, English was a relatively good subject, but it was specialized for reading and writing. In addition, after graduation, my English ability had disappeared because there was almost no opportunity or necessity to use English, especially English conversation.

I also think that for people in the future, English learning should be started earlier as soon as possible because English ability is absolutely required items in order to live in the global world.
By the way, my two grandsons have been learning English including English conversation at the ECC junior English classroom once a week in the neighborhood since the first grade of elementary school.
At least I think that their ability of pronunciation of words and hearing English is probably superior to me.(LOL)

But Japanese education is more important for children, I think.
I sometimes look at TV of Eigo de Asobou.
It's difficult for me.
Yeah...young children should learn how to think in Japanese and express by Japanese first and then they can learn how to exchange different expression by their own sense.

I should have learned English when I was young.
I want to learn everyday English conversation.
In the future we won't have to learn a lot of languages but AI would translate it accurately...it's not enough to change the languages. The most important is to know the many differences and understand diversities of different culture and background. So we have to learn more deeply how to make understand each other and learn more about sociology than languages.
