What's serotonin transporter

It's very interesting article about Japanese from the view of the brain scientist, Nobuko Nakano.
She is often seen on TV and one of my favorite commentators.
She is a scientist and a researcher for the human brain.
Her opinion is very vivid and clear to understand for me.
She tells most of Japanese have little serotonin transporter that causes the weaker of mastering foreign language than other races.
If Japanese had more serotonin transporter, not so much fear nor afraid of failing and being good at speaking English well!
It might be true ....so we need to try " Don't be afraid of making mistakes " in practicing English conversation. It proves.

  1. When I had learned English at British hills, a native speaker said to me.
"English pronunciation is more difficult than Japanese pronunciation."
I think so, too. English word has many meaning. For example, have, take, get and so on. Japanese word is one meaning. So Japanese word is easy to talk to. Maybe I'll old man.

    1. I don't think English is more difficult than Japanese because English has common in the world and it has a smaller barrier than Japanese complicated expression and three kinds of characters.
If I were an English native I can't learn Japanese.
I can enjoy English because of its straight and clear meaning from the true feeling but Japanese is a bit indirect expression from the heart.

  2. I knew serotonin transporter for the first time in this blog.
I think the description of Nobuko Nakano mentioned in this article is compelling and easy to understand very much.
I understand that Japanese traditional good identity that is praise from the world becomes an obstacle in terms to learn English.
But, I would like to cherish "do not be afraid of making mistakes" in practicing English conversation as teachers always say.

By the way, it was reversion in winter this morning, wasn't it?
It become March, and I am surprising a little by the snow of the out of season.

And as time goes by now is the globalization coming and our descendants must learn globalism and adjust to the open mind society.

    1. If you keep learning English and try to use in your daily life you'll find English is more efficient to notice your desire and simple to show your true mind because Japanese care about more polite expression and how others feel too much.
